Emma Alvarado has filed a class-action lawsuit against Microsoft over a US$59.25 charge for downgrading her Windows Vista PC to Windows XP. These frivolous lawsuits are just stupid.

The suit was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington in Seattle, Los Angeles. Emma Alvarado is asking that Microsoft return the fee she paid for downgrading her Lenovo PC with the Windows Vista Business OS preinstalled to Windows XP Professional. Alvarado purchased the PC on June 20, 2008, according to the lawsuit.

I can’t say I would agree with having to pay a fine to change my OS from one to another, but I doubt I would go as far as suing Microsoft for 60 bucks. As long as she was aware of the fines prior to downgrading she just needs to move on. It’s a waste of everyone’s time.
