Microsoft Office is coming to the iPad and will be available on Apple’s Lion operating system next year. Office is integrated into the Windows Phone already and I am sure that they would like a piece of real estate on the iPad. The iPad isn’t really suited for creating content so I wouldn’t think about producing the next War and Peace on it, but it would be good for simple thoughts in Word or Excel. I would think that you should also be able to sync into Office 365 so you can pickup those thoughts on a laptop or desktop when you get to the office. I would also think that the office apps would be very scaled down versions of the full apps.

They are the most serious threats that most computer users come across, and can cause many types of problems on the system. Errors related to malware are also quite cryptic, and not easy to resolve. For example, the d.exe doesn’t seem to be a process of any use, except that a little research reveals that it is a malware file.

Is there any sure shot defense against malware? Well, by following some very simple steps, it is possible to take care of most malware-related problems in any Windows PC:

Antivirus scan – The first step to deal with malware problems is to perform a thorough antivirus scan on your computer. Before running the scan, make sure that your antivirus software is up-to-date with latest definitions so that it is ready to detect and remove the latest threats.

Registry cleanup – It is well known that the registry is very important to the proper functioning of the system, and that it is usually very complicated to perform registry repair by yourself. Even if there seem to be no problem with the registry, you should make sure that you check it regularly for errors. The reason is that a corrupt registry weakens the system security, and opens the way for malware to infect the system. For instance, the smss.exe process is a system process easily hijacked by malware. Therefore, make sure that you purchase a good registry cleaner and take care of registry problems before it is too late.

Firewall – A lot of importance is given to viruses and the antivirus issue, but people normally forget that network security is also paramount. In fact, it is only because of the weak network security that malware attack the system and make hacking and phishing activities possible. A good firewall establishes itself between the network and your system, filtering all data traffic. In this way, security is enhanced and there is less chance of a malware invading your system or connecting to the internet. There are many free firewalls you can choose from, and they are about as important as any antivirus program out there.

Spyware removal – Even though they might be considered the second rung of the ‘malware family’, spyware and adware cause a lot of errors on the system and can even steal confidential user information in severe cases. They can fill up disk space very quickly by replicating themselves very fast, hence keeping your system busy via useless activities. A good example of such malware is the alg.exe process. The most effective defense against such malware is to get a good quality anti-spyware installed on your system that will save your sensitive data from being transferred to attacker websites.

As was shown in this discussion, there are a few common reasons for malware problems. Your skill level and expertise in dealing with computers doesn’t really matter, just as long as you remain informed about malware threats and see to it that you download all software from trusted sources only.

PC errors are an everyday phenomenon, with new types of errors being discovered every day. The Windows operating system in particular seems to be not too well designed for modern needs. The result is that there are a lot of errors that an average user doesn’t understand, like the stop 0×0000007b error. This leads to many people wasting time looking for computer experts to fix their problems. But if you understand the basics about these errors, you can repair them easily on your own.

Stop errors:

Has your computer ever displayed a blue screen accompanied by an error message? If so, you have encountered a Stop error. A Stop error occurs when there is something seriously wrong with the system, such as a driver failure or corrupt system files. A good example is the stop 0×80004005 error, which occurs when there is a problem in linking to the database.

Stop errors can be very troublesome, because they cause you to lose work and suffer system damage, sometimes permanently.

Dealing with Stop errors:

Granted that Stop errors can be very troublesome, the good news is that like the rest of computer errors, they can be dealt with quite easily. All that is needed is to follow the simple and effective steps given below:

Clean the Windows registry – Since the registry never shows up during the normal working of a computer, we never get to know if there are problems with it or not. But the truth is that it is the long term problems in the registry that give rise to errors like the stop 0×00000024 error. To avoid such errors in the future and to make sure that the system runs fast and reliably, you should invest in a good registry cleaner that will make it very easy for you to deal with registry problems. However, make sure you download the software only from a trusted source.

Perform Driver update – Drivers need to be handled carefully. Whenever you get a new hardware part, make sure you do some research first and install only those drivers that are fully compatible with your hardware. One should not, for example, install older drivers, or any drivers that seem to work fine for the time being, because it is drivers like these that cause problems later on.

Remove Viruses using a robust Antivirus tool – A good antivirus is essential to a PC’s security. At the same time, you need to ensure that you have nothing but the best antivirus in the industry. Freeware antivirus tools are something that should be discouraged, as they are not so effective. Also, remember to daily update your antivirus by connecting to the internet and downloading the latest definition files.

These examples show that it is actually very easy to deal with PC Stop errors on your own. You certainly don’t need to be an expert to carry out these steps. If Windows is easy to work with, it is also easy to diagnose and troubleshoot system issues.
