The Quake Live Beta went online. Just received a Tweet from QuakeLive saying that they went live. It is a wee bit slow, probably because of all the people trying to get to it.

AMD Entering the Netbook Market
If your shopping for a netbook you will get an Intel atom platform. They are relatively fast, have low heat and power consumption. AMD is looking to convince some of the netbook makers to go with them instead of Intel.
AMD would love to get into the market with their “Yukon” platform, which may be better than the atom. The Yukon does consume a little more power, but it also delivers alot more performance.
AMD’s other advantage is the fact that they aren’t going to restrict the ways that the platform can be used. Intel has stated that the screen on a atom platform netbook can’t be larger then 10 inches and AMD is telling manufacturers to do whatever they would like with no restrictions. AMD has been struggling for a couple of years and it would be nice to have some competition in this arena.
