Windows 10 will be coming out this summer and those with genuine copies of Windows 7, 8 and 8.1 can upgrade within the first year of release for no cost. Microsoft has yet to release a firm release date or a price for its next OS.
The Microsoft Spokesman Said:
“Although non-Genuine PCs may be able to upgrade to Windows 10, the upgrade will not change the genuine state of the license”. So you can upgrade if you have a non-genuine version of Windows 7, 8 or 8.1, but it won't change the status of your license to genuine.
